Abstract: This special edition explores how cultural expression, resistance, and adaptability serve as tools of survival and liberation for historically marginalized communities. Drawing on interdisciplinary scholarship and personal narratives, the article investigates shapeshifting as both a metaphorical and practical process that enables individuals to navigate oppressive systems, preserve cultural identities, and advocate for justice. By examining diverse examples of resilience across education, art, and social movements, the authors highlight shapeshifting as a powerful strategy for transforming society toward greater equity and inclusion.
